A look at our history and purpose, its present emphasis and activity.

THE FUNCTION AND PURPOSE OF THE CRUISING CLUB OF LOUISVILLE shall be to assist and encourage its members in the ownership and use of sailing vessels, with the prime objective of cruising under sail. "To Cruise", within the spirit of the club's by-laws, is defined as "to spend the night away from a boat’s home mooring".

Conceived in 1974 and later established in 1976, the Cruising Club of Louisville provides social entertainment and educational information to its membership and the general public through cruises, racing, meetings and seminars.

Membership is open to all, regardless of whether one owns a boat or not. Meetings are normally held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month during the off season. Annual memberships number just under 100.

Whether you're interested in racing or cruising, or whether you're a skipper or wanting to crew, we hope you will consider joining us. For more information contact us by visiting our webform page.
